QuiltingB's Free Quilt Patterns - Fox and Geese
Although I could provide templates for the various pieces, I have decided instead to provide size measurements and cutting instructions. This is because of the differences in computer screen resulutions and printer settings. By providing these measurments and cutting instructions, you can be sure that your pieces will be the proper size and scale. If you prefer to use templates, simply follow these measurement instructions, cutting out pieces of paper and transfer that to template plastic.
1. Cut the pieces.
From background fabric (white) cut the following:
- 3 7/8 X 3 7/8 inch square--cut 1, then cut diagonally to make 2 triangles. These are your A triangles.
- 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 inch square--cut 4. These are your C squares
From blue fabric, cut:
- 6 7/8 X 6 7/8 inch square--cut 1, then cut diagonally to make 2 triangles. These are your large blue B triangles
- 3 7/8 X 3 7/8 inch square--cut 2, then cut each diagonally to make 2 triangles for a total of 4 triangles. These are your small blue A triangles.
From the red fabric, cut:
- 6 7/8 X 6 7/8 inch square--cut 1, then cut diagonally to make 2 triangles. These are your large red B triangles
- 3 7/8 X 3 7/8 inch square--cut 1, then cut diagonally to make 2 triangles. These are your small red A triangles
2. Sew together the units.
Sew the triangles together to make squares, making:
- 2 large red/blue squares
- 2 small red/blue squares
- 2 small white/blue squares
The following are all the squares you'll be using in this block:
Then, sew the units together, making 2 of these units:
3. Sew the units into strips.
4. Sew the stips together to make the block.
